The Food Lion across the street is Oak Island's largest grocery store. You can pick up some ice cream to take home while you are getting your groceries.
As this article was being researched, there appeared to be a new sandwich and ice cream shop opening at the corner of Country Club Drive and Elizabeth Drive, just after crossing the bridge onto Oak Island. The building was not yet complete, but signs in the window indicated that one of the shops opening soon would sell ice cream as well as sandwiches and similar items.
